    • The working principle of a diesel engine is different from a petrol engine. In a diesel engine, air is drawn into the cylinder and highly compressed by the piston. After compression occurs, diesel fuel is sprayed into the cylinder through the fuel spray system. The diesel fuel that is sprayed will spontaneously burn due to the high temperature and high pressure in the cylinder due to compressed air. This process is referred to as compression combustion.
